Hello and welcome to the brand new website of the brand new comic: On the Rocks (now Wally and Osborne). As you may have noticed, the comic takes place in Antarctica. It stars an unlikely couple: a penguin and a polar bear. Now, naturally, polar bears only live in the arctic, north of the equator, and penguins only live south of the equator, so they would never even see each other in a normal setting. Our comic world here is anything but normal.
Through turns of events our polar bear, Wally, ended up in Antarctica and befriended an odd little penguin named Osborne. How he ended up so far from home could be a good future back-story, but for now we shall jump right into the shenanigans of their daily routine.
I’ve had these characters living in the back of my mind for quite some time. It’s only now that I decide to put them in comic form and share them with the world. I’ve always had a certain fascination with Antarctica. It’s such a foreign continent, completely alien to us as if it were some distant ice planet. I never tire of watching the silly antics of penguins. Walking around in their communities on two legs like little people. The seals basking in the sun with their puppy-dog eyes. All the whales in the water, from the amazing orca (the killer whale) to the largest creature to ever live on earth, the blue whale. The ability for all these animals, mostly warm blooded mammals, to live in the freezing temperatures is really amazing. I find the icy landscapes with their bright blue colors to be quite beautiful.
So yeah, enough about that, go enjoy the comic.
