: Capes
Apr 13, 2006

Perhaps one reason we loved running around in our underwear as kids is that it’s kind of like a superhero, especially with the simple addition of a cape fashioned from a small blanket or whatever was handy. This of course being based on the oldschool superheroes that wore their underwear on the outside.

Old Toyz

Speaking of being a kid, Toyzville, a webcomic about a place where retired toys go, is celebrating it’s 100th comic strip today. The artist had a little contest of guessing some partial photographs of some toys ranging from old to new and I won. Yay! Reaching certain numbers of strips is kind of rewarding for a webcomic artist, regularly updated comic content is a lot of work, especially when it’s just a side hobby and you have lots of other stuff to attend to too.

The Computer

I seem to be back up and running. Just have Windows, a couple programs and my On the Rocks files back on it so it’s pretty clean and running smooth so far.

Man it’s hot today, I got to go hook up my air…

Dude, I think my brain is leaking into yours, I was thinking almost the same thing except it was Super Wally and Penguin Lad and then Osbourne would say why am I the side kick, and Wally would say, because your smaller. but this is awesome too, gonna love to see the rest of this story line, and the undies on ice panel would make an awesome wall-paper.

    Sub-zero superheroes!

I never ran around in my underwear as a kid. I was in high school before I stopped wearing long sleeves everywhere. I still won’t wear shorts.

I’m not what you’d call a free spirit.

  6. Matt_D says:

Wait…who’s the hero and who’s the sidekick?

The hero is always bigger, so that would be Wally. But at the same time, the hero is always smarter than the sidekick, so that would be Osbourne. Or is this some kind of dual-heroes thing? Like those twins in the Justice League, that one turned into water and the other into animals, but without each other they were powerless.

I like Wally’s suit in the 3rd panel.

    hilarious !

My mum wouldn’t let us run around the yard in our undies when we were kids but she was happy to peg a towel to our T-shirts and let us run around until we collapsed with exhaustion.

Undies On Ice sounds like an ice skating show.

Hi Tyler.. thanks for the wonderful comic fun! I went to toysville to see the site and then linked to a site called Boots and Pup. I see that you helped him with his format and such (looks great!) and i tried to leave a comment, but cant figure out how to. im told to log in, but it wont work cause im not registered. i registered at the forums, but cant seem to leave a message like i can here. Im not sure if the creator knows that function is not working or not, but thought you could bring it to his attention (seeing as i cant see his email addy anywhere). Nice job on the site!

I never ran around in my under ware that I know of…mayde cause I just never read dc comics, and none of the marvel characters have problems getting thier clothes on right :-p

  18. tux says:

Tyler might not get a comic up every Friday but we have to remember he does it for fun, if he doesn’t have time or wants to relax on a Thursday or Friday instead of work on the comic then we should not be ungrateful. I really miss the comics over the weekend but it just makes my Monday mornings all the better (and there is no denying that anything to improve a Monday morning is a good thing ™).

  20. Tyler Martin says:

Yeah, I’ve been slacking a bit on Fridays. Going to have to get them in gear to stay on schedule with 5 strips a week.
